Challenges and objectives

The New Statesman is Britain’s leading, best written and most authoritative weekly politics, culture and current affairs magazine. For a century, its mission has been to provide readers with a rigorous examination of political culture as well as to amuse and entertain through a variety of provocative and acclaimed reports, columns and essays.

Its special supplements and advertorials focus on key issues affecting British society today. Appearing both in the printed magazine and on its award-winning website, they cover all manner of topics from business and finance, to political reform, to food security and everything in between.

The supplements and advertorials act as both an important information source for readers and a key revenue-generating tool for the New Statesman. As such, it is important that the content they contain meets both the New Statesman’s high quality editorial standards, while also providing the advertisers and sponsors with a product they too can be proud of.

How we helped

Our talented team of writers, editors and designers have supported the New Statesman since 2011, working closely with the commercial team and their advertisers and sponsors. Our role is to take the key themes of the supplements and advertorials and translate them into engaging copy for the page.

This role includes commissioning content from government ministers, think tanks, industry leaders and academia, writing detailed copy based on round table discussions and debates, and editing content provided by advertisers.

We also design the supplements, taking full advantage of the skills of our designers in areas such as magazine layout and infographic creation.

The results

Our relationship with the New Statesman has gone from strength to strength, and we are now one of their key partners.

In addition to producing regular high-quality supplements and advertorials, we also support them with events: our managing director Becky Slack frequently chairs debates, discussions and party conference fringe events on behalf of the magazine where she explores some of the key challenges facing our world with leading voices from within and around the political sphere.
