Monthly round-up

The heat is on

May – a month of extreme heat, especially at the ballot box. At Agenda, we’ve been helping organisations manage the volatile temperatures by repositioning their offers, messaging and content.

There’s no easy way to put this: the local government elections have shown that polarised conversations in the pub have now entered our mainstream politics – and this shift in power will affect our work. Want to know how to protect your organisation? Then join us at Changing hearts and minds on Weds 10 June.

Hoping for the best when communicating difficult news can cause more disruption than planning for the worse. Vic’s been helping a charity get ahead of some significant changes through carefully crafted and sequenced messaging.

We kicked off the Nautilus website content phase working with their comms team to shift the messaging from what the union does to how it connects with potential members: focusing on what they feel or experience in their working lives and showing the value and impact of joining.

Identifying and helping young people at risk of homelessness is one key strand of Centrepoint’s work. Vic and Rachel have been helping the charity think about positioning its school-based Upstream project to reach more families.

The government is keen to tell people that NHS waiting lists are falling – but its own data shows that more patients than ever are waiting for imaging tests. This month, we've been helping the Society of Radiographers shift the narrative and make the case for more radiographers.

Plans for a new website and CRM to help NIPSA recruit, retain and engage members is underway – with Vic making a guest appearance at the union’s annual conference to share next steps with reps and members.

Our PR guru Catherine Cooper landed two stories in local and national media for Tree of Hope again this month, covering two families’ fundraising activities for their children who have rare conditions: one with a comedy night, the other with a gruelling mountain bike climb in France!

Finally, you can master the art of public relations in our next workshop, PR skills for civil society, which is tailored to help you build stronger connections with the media. It’s taking place online on Wednesday 8 July, 10am-12pm – book your place now.
